Summer 2010 Simulcasts & Where to Find Them
The Summer 2010 anime season is already upon us. Lots of the shows airing have already been picked up for simulcasting in the US and other regions. Here’s a listing of them all, with links right to them.
If I missed anything, please comment below to let me know!

I’m very much looking forward to HSotD. May have to give TAN my money, now.
I also heard that Highschool of the Dead is going to get a dub by Sentai. Being a bit more realistic here:
Takashi Komuro: Chris Patton
Kouta Hirano: Greg Ayres
Alice Maresato: Serena Varghese
Saeko Busujima: Brittney Karbowski
Shizuka Marikawa: Monica Rial
Rei Miyamoto: Luci Christian
Saya Takagi: Shelley Calene-Black
Hisashi Igou: Illich Guardiola
Rika Minami: Laura Bailey
Koichi Shidou: J. Michael Tatum
I might swap out Laura Bailey and J. Michael Tatum for someone else eventually.
*sob* so many of these simulcasts are region locked and not available in my neck of the woods. ppl exist outside of North America -_-
Yeah, region locking needs to go. Being in the US, streaming anime legally is something I tend to take for granted. If the legal sites really want to combat fansubs and illegal streams, they really should get rid of those region restrictions.
I was glad to see that Crunchyroll recently lifted some of the region restrictions for Strike Witches 2. Hopefully things like this will continue to happen – the Internet should be open to everyone.
OK, so when will CR understand that they cannot ignore Germany? I’m region blocked from every interesting show out there =.=
Also I don’t see too many ads about CR among the anisphere, it doesn’t seem like they are trying to expand/get more people involved. Actually, CR pretty much disappoints me with what it’s doing.
And FUNi’s site is completely inaccessible from outside North America. And I mean completely – the whole domain gets redirected to a Navarre about page.
As far as I understand, the region locking rules are in effect due to restrictions from the copyright holders (the Japanese producers).
If there’s anyone to blame for this, it’s the Japanese producers who refuse to allow openness on the Internet.
Yes yes, Japan wants to be payed for every country, OK. They do need to change their noob policies (>implying there are countries on the internet) but with money CR could still handle it. Now there, CR needs money. To get money you need to invest money. CR needs to invest in advertising to get more attention. I mean, just look at my forums, I’m sure 70% don’t know CR exists. And that’s just a small slice of the anisphere. And they won’t know about CR unless CR does something about that. And: their affiliate programme is not actually attractive to anyone, so no wonder I’ve never seen anyone linking to it. OK, so my main critique on CR would be the lack of a marketing strategy, which is the core reason for everything I complain about later.
