Sentai Filmworks licenses Lupes-Garous, Ro-Kyu-Bu!, ef: a tale of memories/melodies

At their Anime Expo panel today Sentai Filmworks announced the acquisition of several new properties. First up is the movie Lupes-Garous which they will be releasing on DVD and Blu-Ray, though no date has been announced yet. They also licensed Ro-Kyu-Bu! which just started airing recently, no word on release date or format. The last new titles announced was ef: a tale of memories and the sequel ef: a tale of melodies, no mention of release date or format.

Sentai also mentioned they plan to continue releasing the Golgo 13 series, and are merely waiting for materials at this point. They also announced they would be releasing the first season of Clannad on Blu-Ray in November.

Funimation licenses B Gata H Kei, Asobi ni Iku yo, and more

B Gata H Kei and Asobi ni Iku Yo hadn’t actually been announced at the time, but pages for both series showed up on Funimation’s website today. Both series will be out next year on DVD/BD.

During their Anime Expo panel Funimation went over their plans for the new Last Exile series. They will be simulcasting it once it starts airing later this year, and will release it on DVD/BD  later on.

They also announced that they had acquired the second season of Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts which they will be releasing on DVD/BD next year. Funimation also secured more rights for [C] – Control, and will be releasing it on DVD/BD next year as well.

Towards the end Funimation’s Vice President of Licensing and Acquisitions came out. After assuring people that the Geneon Universal series would be coming soon, he went on to announce two more series: Steins;Gate and Deadman Wonderland.

Aniplex USA announces release of Madoka Magica, Blue Exorcist

As predicted once the site appeared, Aniplex USA has announced a release for Madoka Magica at their Anime Expo panel. There is currently no information about how or when it will be released. All they can confirm is that they will be releasing it at some point.

Aniplex also announced a DVD release for Blue Exorcist. They will start releasing it later this year, finishing at some time in 2012. The series will be released on four DVD sets. During Q&A Aniplex mentioned that the Blue Exorcist DVDs will be subtitle only.

NISA licenses Dororon Enma Kun Meeramera

At their Anime Expo panel today, NIS America announced they had acquired the series Dororon Enma-Kun Meeramera. No release date or format has been mentioned.

Dororon Enma-Kun Meeramera is an adaption of the 1970′s manga by Go Nagai. It tells the story of the Yokai Patrol, a group that is tasked with hunting down ghosts that have escaped from Hell into the human world.

Funimation licenses Last Exile – Fam, The Silver Wing-

Funimation announced earlier today that they have licensed Last Exile – Fam, The Silver Wing-, sequel to the 2003 series Last Exile. They have streaming and home media rights for the title, and the first episode will be premiering at Anime Expo next week.

“LASTEXILE –Fam, the Silver Wing- is a new original tale in the LASTEXILE universe. It features new characters, new mechanics and an all new story centered around the young ace vanship pilot, Fam, and her trusted navigator, Giselle, as they pilot their vanship, Vespa, through the free and peaceful skies.”

Funimation has also listed several other Last Exile events that will be going on at Anime Expo. Fans can visit the Funimation booth at the convention to see art pieces from the new series, and have their pictures taken with cosplayers dressed as characters from the series. The creative team behind the series will also be present at the convention and available for autographs, and a Q&A session following the premier of the first episode.
