Otaku in Review Podcast – I Hate, Hate, Hate, Hate, Hate, Hate, Hate…
This week we invited my friend Gina Giannetti from Chu*Blog onto the show to discuss remakes and reboots in games and movies. Naturally, this resulted in a lot of discussion about Star Wars and naturally, the others disagreed with me (am I the only person who doesn’t hate the Special Editions?). We also discuss game reboots such as the recently announced remakes of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, two fantastic games getting the much-deserved HD treatment.
In the news… Crunchyroll’s already ahead of the game and has licensed a whole bunch of stuff before they start airing. Japan continues to offer streaming anime via Nico Nico Douga. There’s good news and bad news for Valkyria Chronicles fans like Scott and myself, as the latest addition to the series has been announced. And finally… I had a feeling it was coming, and here it is… dating sims have crossed over into the 3D realm. Think of this what you will.
Otaku in Review Podcast – We Haven't Gotten to a Sex Scene… Yet
Scott & Jon talk about technology (again), with Jon being especially impatient about not getting his iPhone 4 yet. Jon’s playing the extremely long dating sim Kira Kira and hasn’t gotten any yet. Scott states his qualms with the B Gata H Kei finale and the possibilities of why the writers have been receiving death threats. Also, Jon talks about the totally awesome shooter game Deathsmiles (check out his review).
K-ON!! has been confirmed to be 26 episodes. Where will the series be headed in its third and (possibly) final season? We speculate in this episode.
And of course, we talk about all of the totally freakin’ awesome license announcements that came out of Anime Expo 2010.
